Civil Engineer

About the role

ISG, a multi-disciplinary architecture, engineering, planning and interior design firm founded in 1973 and owned by its employees, is hiring a Civil Engineer in Mankato. The engineer works as an ISG Employee Owner alongside Jerremy Foss, PE, CNUA, Civil Engineering Group Leader, and an in-house team of architects, planners, engineers, visualization specialists, specification writers and construction administrators. The role covers projects from concept through construction.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with project teams to develop and implement civil engineering strategies that support sustainable, high-performing outcomes
• Act as a key point of contact with clients, contractors and local, state and regulatory agencies to coordinate projects and ensure compliance
• Support projects through contract and construction administration, contributing to quality and constructability
• Contribute to infrastructure master plans, feasibility studies and technical reports, including stormwater management analyses where needed
• Produce engineering drawings, details, specifications and schedules using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and ArcGIS
• Provide technical expertise and on-site support during construction
• Mentor and lead local ISG team members

Required profile

• Licensed Professional Engineer, or ability to obtain licensure within 1 year
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• 5-10 years of experience in Civil Engineering
• Familiarity with local government processes and permitting
• Strong communication, project management, report writing, analytical and interpersonal skills; able to work independently with minimal supervision
