Civil Engineer (EIT) – Municipal Projects

About the role

Artheon is seeking a civil engineering professional to join its growing team in Albany, NY. The position is ideal for candidates with 2–5 years of experience who want to work on public‑sector projects, receive mentorship, and follow a clear path toward Professional Engineer licensure.

Key responsibilities

• Review site plans, subdivision and land‑development applications for compliance with municipal ordinances and engineering standards, and prepare technical review letters and reports.
• Prepare and contribute to the design of municipal infrastructure improvements, including roadway, drainage, utility, and stormwater projects, and develop plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Support construction‑phase services such as submittal review, RFIs, field observations, contractor coordination, and documentation of field conditions.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and municipal clients, take increasing ownership of assignments, and participate in professional development initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in civil, municipal, or site/infrastructure engineering.
• Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification and demonstrated progress toward PE licensure (goal within 6–12 months).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort participating in public meetings.

Required skills

• AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar civil engineering design software.
• Engineering calculations and analysis for grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility systems, and roadway design.
