City Manager - Director of Operations, Airport

About the role

Avis Budget Group is hiring a City Manager for Denver International Airport. The role leads, manages and develops the assigned city to operational excellence, financial profitability and sustained growth, with full accountability for operations, fleet, people, customer experience and financial results, including fleet utilization and asset productivity. It also acts as the fleet command leader and the main owner of the Compass reporting platform.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop the city, set monthly performance goals and forecast, budget and manage key financial drivers such as revenue, utilization and fleet mix.
• Develop and implement city operating plans aligned with company objectives, and establish or revise strategies, procedures and standards.
• Direct fleet distribution, oversee maintenance, repair and reconditioning, and evaluate inventories to maintain the right fleet mix and age profile.
• Analyze DOR and operational reports to improve utilization, return on investment and fleet velocity.
• Serve as the primary Compass owner: ensure accurate, consistent use of Compass reporting, use it to track vehicle location, condition and dwell time, and optimize lot flow and dwell time.
• Lead lot flow strategy, identify trends and risks, recommend Compass enhancements, and act as a change agent so teams are informed, trained and supported.
• Hire, lead, coach and evaluate staff, implement HR policies fairly and build a culture of accountability and customer focus.
• Partner with Corporate Sales and Marketing, work with local business and government groups, and ensure quality assurance and compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field (or equivalent education, training and experience).
• Five or more years of operations and sales experience, with at least one year in a supervisory role; vehicle rental or related industry experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to lead multiple locations and complex operations, lead through change and adopt new tools and processes.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication and coaching skills.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
