Child Welfare Services Case Manager Supervisor

About the role

The State of Georgia seeks a dedicated Child Welfare Services Case Manager Supervisor to lead a social services unit in Gwinnett County. This position oversees investigative and case management activities for child abuse and neglect, ensuring timely actions for at‑risk clients.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and plan work of assigned staff, setting unit goals and regulating workloads.
• Conduct home‑visit evaluations, collect evidence, interview witnesses, and prepare reports in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Coordinate and monitor children in out‑of‑home placements, in‑home interventions, and comprehensive tracking of client activities.
• Develop case plans utilizing community resources, identify foster care placements, and initiate legal processes for guardianship, protective services, or adoption.
• Review, approve or disapprove casework performed by staff and ensure documentation is complete and timely.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with three years of case management experience, or one year at a lower‑level Child Welfare case manager position.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, make safety assessments, and collaborate with legal systems.
• Pass agency testing protocol and meet telework eligibility as required.

Required skills

• Knowledge of child welfare laws, investigative procedures, and case documentation standards.
• Ability to conduct assessments, home evaluations, and develop comprehensive case plans.
