Child Welfare Services Case Manager Supervisor

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking a Child Welfare Services Case Manager Supervisor to lead a social services unit in Appling, Columbia County. This role oversees investigative and comprehensive case management for child abuse or neglect, ensuring timely actions for at‑risk clients.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and plan work of assigned staff, setting unit goals and regulating workloads.
• Conduct investigations, home‑visit evaluations, and prepare reports in compliance with state and federal laws.
• Coordinate and monitor children in out‑of‑home placements, in‑home interventions, and comprehensive tracking of client activities.
• Develop case plans utilizing community resources and initiate legal processes for guardianship, protective services, placement, or adoption.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree and three years of case management experience, or one year at a lower‑level Child Welfare case manager position.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and ability to travel statewide.
• Ability to pass agency testing, background checks, and drug screening.

Required skills

• Experience conducting investigations, collecting evidence, and preparing regulatory reports.
• Proficiency in developing case plans and coordinating services for children and families.
