Child Welfare Services Case Manager Supervisor

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking a Child Welfare Services Case Manager Supervisor to lead a social services unit in Jesup, Wayne County. This position oversees investigative and comprehensive case management for child abuse or neglect, ensuring timely actions for at‑risk clients.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and plan work of assigned staff, setting unit goals and regulating workloads.
• Conduct investigations, home‑visit evaluations, and prepare reports in compliance with state and federal laws.
• Coordinate and monitor children in out‑of‑home placements, in‑home interventions, and comprehensive service tracking.
• Develop case plans, identify placement resources, and initiate legal processes for guardianship, protective services, placement, or adoption.
• Review, approve, or render decisions on casework performed by staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree and three years of case management experience, or one year at a lower‑level Child Welfare case manager position.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and acceptable driving record for statewide travel.
• Ability to pass agency testing, background checks, and drug screening.
