Child Development Specialist – Full‑Time

About the role

The University of Miami Health System’s Department of Pediatrics‑Early Steps is seeking a full‑time Child Development Specialist to support children, families, and educators in Miami. The role focuses on assessing developmental needs, creating individualized plans, and delivering therapy and consultation in natural settings.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive developmental evaluations using standardized psychological measures.
• Develop and implement individualized family support plans (IFSP) and therapy goals.
• Provide direct therapy and consultation services to children, parents, caregivers, teachers, and community professionals.
• Deliver services in homes, community settings, and clinical environments.
• Maintain accurate patient data entry and ensure compliance with licensing regulations.
• Communicate progress and recommendations while preserving confidentiality.

Required profile

• Experience working with infants and toddlers at risk for developmental delays.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists and medical staff.
• Strong communication skills with families and professionals.
• Commitment to adhering to university policies and safeguarding assets.
