About the role
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) seeks a visionary leader to serve as Chief of its Division of Genomic Diagnostics (DGD). Reporting to the Department Chair, the Chief will guide a multidisciplinary team of faculty and staff in advancing clinical genomic testing and precision‑medicine initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the DGD, encompassing cancer genomics, constitutional genomics, and immunogenetics, overseeing 14 faculty and 69 staff.
- Develop and implement innovative diagnostic tools, including rapid genome, whole‑exome, gene panels, SNP arrays, cytogenetics, liquid biopsy, and NGS‑based HLA typing.
- Establish standards for multi‑omic data interpretation, risk assessment, and quantitative analysis in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Drive research, education, and collaborative projects within CHOP and with external academic and industry partners.
- Contribute to CHOP’s Omics and Big Data Initiative and support the hospital’s precision‑medicine strategy.
Required profile
- Associate or Full Professor on a non‑tenure clinician‑educator track.
- MD and/or PhD with eligibility for Pennsylvania medical licensure.
- Board certification in Molecular Genetic Pathology or American Board of Medical Genetics (Laboratory Genetics and Genomics).
- Proven leadership experience and expertise in genomic diagnostics.
