Chief Medical Scribe – Remote Contract (up to $80/hr)

About the role

Mercor is seeking a Chief Medical Scribe to join its remote team on a contract basis. You will work independently to create high‑quality clinical documentation that mirrors real‑world provider workflows, supporting AI research labs that need accurate medical text.

Key responsibilities

• Build long‑horizon documentation tasks that reflect actual clinical documentation work.
• Create deterministic rubrics to grade agent performance against verifiable ground truth.
• Develop scenarios for encounter documentation such as SOAP notes, H&Ps, and progress notes.
• Construct transitions of care scenarios, including discharge summaries and medication reconciliation.
• Formulate CDI queries triggered by rule‑defined documentation gaps with correct query framing.
• Work independently and asynchronously to ensure task quality and throughput.

Required profile

• 2+ years experience as a medical scribe, CDI specialist, RN, NP, PA, or a similar documentation‑heavy role.
• Proficiency with SOAP or H&P authoring, CDI query practice, discharge summary construction, and EHR documentation workflows (Epic, Cerner).
• Comfortable handling clinical artifacts such as SOAP notes, H&Ps, discharge summaries, and CDI queries.
• Clear written communication and ability to articulate reasoning step‑by‑step.
