Chief Information Officer – IDOC

About the role

The Department of Innovation & Technology is seeking a Chief Information Officer to lead the team supporting the Illinois Department of Corrections. The CIO will drive IT strategy, ensure compliance, and deliver innovative solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the IT team serving the Illinois Department of Corrections, aligning initiatives with enterprise direction.
• Apply data strategies and improve delivery of technology services.
• Ensure compliance across all systems and applications within the DOC’s purview.
• Manage customer relationships and collaborate with architects, team leads, designers, product managers, quality control, and executive stakeholders.

• Excellent organizational skills with experience in software development, project management, and team development.
• Knowledge of current and emerging IT trends and ability to lead a dynamic, problem‑solving environment.
