Chemistry Instructor (Full-time)

About the role

Columbus Technical College is seeking a full‑time Chemistry Instructor to deliver lecture and laboratory courses across fall, spring, and summer semesters. The role involves preparing lesson plans, assessing student progress, and maintaining a safe learning environment on campus and in surrounding counties.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver Chemistry lecture and lab sessions for high‑school and college students.
• Prepare detailed lesson plans, syllabi, tests, and laboratory activities aligned with state standards.
• Evaluate student performance, provide timely feedback, and maintain academic records.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
• Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and departmental initiatives.
• Occasionally teach on weekends, evenings, or at off‑site locations within Muscogee, Stewart, Quitman, Chattahoochee, Harris, and Talbot counties.

Required profile

• Under general supervision, capable of preparing instructional materials and assessing student outcomes.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lb and work safely in a laboratory environment.
• Ability to distinguish colors and demonstrate hand dexterity for lab work.
• Willingness to travel within the service area and teach high‑school students when needed.
