Chemical Warehouse Operator

About the role

Brenntag is looking for an Operator to handle liquid and dry chemical products safely and efficiently in a warehouse and transfer setting. The role covers mixing and blending chemicals, loading and unloading trucks, tankers and railcars, operating forklifts, repackaging and labeling materials, and keeping accurate inventory records. It is a physically active, fast-paced job with no supervisory responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Mix, blend and manufacture products, keeping them on specification through process data and testing, and using scrubbers, ventilation and bonding/grounding equipment safely
• Receive, unload and prepare, and load liquid and dry chemical products from trucks, tankers and railcars, including inspecting tanks and verifying products against shipping documents
• Take product samples with lab personnel and keep receiving and shipping logs
• Pick and stage product for delivery, and operate certified powered and manual forklifts, moving raw materials to production and finished goods to the warehouse
• Repackage product into cylinders, drums, totes, pails or tankers, paying special attention to food-grade and USP items, and store hazardous waste in compliance with regulations
• Check stored product for deterioration, rearrange materials and assist in physical inventory counts
• Keep the warehouse clean and safe, report and clean up spills, and protect property from theft or damage

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED or US military experience; candidates with 2+ years of chemical operations experience may be considered if education or service requirements are not fully met
• Forklift operator certification or ability to pass the exam, and ability to stand and walk most of the day, climb ladders and work outdoors in variable weather
• Available for any day of the week, 8-12 hour shifts, with occasional overtime and weekends
• Ability to read and follow detailed instructions in English, do basic math, and use devices such as computers and PLCs
• Pass pre-employment drug screen, background check and E-verify; must be able to get a TWIC card for MTSA sites
