CDL Class 8 Truck Driver - Chemical Distribution

About the role

Brenntag is looking for a safety-focused CDL driver to support its chemical distribution operations in Pearsall. The driver operates Class 8 tractors and related equipment to transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials, including liquids and dry products, and works under a "Zero Accidents, Zero Injuries" safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Drive Class 8 tractors and lower power units for bulk and packaged deliveries, including loading and unloading with pumps and air.
• Handle liquid and dry materials in drums, IBCs, pallets and supersacks, and manage transport, transfer, delivery, securement and paperwork.
• Comply with DOT, OSHA and site rules, including placarding, pre-inspection, daily logs and reporting repairs.
• Operate pallet jacks and, where required, a forklift, dock locks and dock levelers.
• Care for assigned equipment, including ELDs, virtual gateways, cameras and tracking units, and stay in contact with the supervisor or dispatcher.

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED or US military experience; chemical delivery experience may be considered.
• Class A CDL with Tanker, Bulk and/or Hazmat endorsement, current DOT medical card, and ability to drive a manual transmission.
• Preferred: 1 year of liquid bulk hauling or 3 years of commercial truck driving experience, and certification from an accredited commercial driving academy.
• Local to the area (within 60 miles); no lodging provided.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, push or pull up to 150 pounds, wear a respirator and climb ladders.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, E-verify and DOT fit-for-duty exam.
