Chef, In‑School (No Weekends/Holidays)

About the role

The Chef position offers a stable weekday schedule with no nights, weekends or major holidays. You will work in a Red Rabbit school kitchen, preparing scratch‑made, culturally relevant meals for hundreds of students each day.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve high‑quality meals following culturally relevant menus and recipes.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards, complete temperature logs, and follow allergy procedures.
• Present meals attractively, keep them at the correct temperature, and ensure timely service.
• Build positive relationships with students and school staff, responding to feedback and service needs.
• Organize your station, support inventory tracking, and submit daily meal counts and reports.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional culinary experience in a fast‑paced kitchen.
• Strong hands‑on cooking skills with the ability to follow recipes consistently.
• Demonstrated knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Excellent communication, attention to detail, and reliable follow‑through.
• Willingness to obtain required food safety certification if not already held.

Required skills

• Food safety certification (or ability to obtain it).
• Proficiency with software, apps, or spreadsheets for daily reporting.
