Certified Welding Inspector – North Baltimore, OH

About the role

The Certified Welding Inspector will provide quality assurance for Bureau Veritas clients, performing on‑site inspections during the construction phase and ensuring compliance with project requirements. The role involves close collaboration with project managers, fabrication shops, contractors and internal teams to resolve issues and deliver accurate inspection reports.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with project managers to define work order scope, schedule, deliverables and budget.
• Conduct on‑site inspections, generate inspection reports and ensure services meet contract specifications.
• Prepare and submit timesheets, billing, expense reports and other documentation within required deadlines.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients, fabrication facilities and internal stakeholders.
• Identify and apply appropriate personal protective equipment and safety measures.

Required profile

• Current/active American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Senior CWI.
• Non‑Destructive Testing Level II or III certification.
• NACE/AMPP Level II certification.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record and ability to pass background and drug checks.
• Reliable high‑speed internet connection and ability to cover travel expenses in advance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, Calendar).
• Experience using Adobe Acrobat and other document‑control software.
• Ability to read and interpret complex design and fabrication plans and specifications.
• Use of a camera or smartphone to capture photos for client reports.
• Knowledge of PPE requirements and safety protocols.
