Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist – Anesthesiology

About the role

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) prepares prescribed solutions and administers anesthetic following specified methods and procedures. Working closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other physicians, the CRNA delivers anesthesia for a wide range of medical and surgical procedures at UTower Hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pre‑ and post‑anesthesia patient visits, document anesthesia notes, and review medical histories to determine appropriate anesthesia methods.
• Administer local, intravenous, spinal, and other anesthetics, monitoring dosage, level, and speed of delivery.
• Measure and monitor patient vital signs—including pulse, blood pressure, respiration, and urine output—to ensure safety throughout the procedure.
• Manage airway and pulmonary status using endotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation, pharmacological support, and respiratory therapy.
• Respond to emergencies by providing airway management, fluid and drug administration, and basic or advanced life support.
• Oversee patient recovery, provide immediate post‑operative care, and develop individualized anesthesia care plans.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Certification as a Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in anesthesia.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to analyze problems, exercise sound judgment, and remain composed under stress.
