Certified Nursing Assistant – Supportive Care & Blood Hydration Unit

About the role

The University of Miami Hospital & Clinics is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join the Supportive Care and Blood Hydration Unit. The CNA will provide direct patient care under RN supervision, assisting with daily activities and supporting clinical procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with dressing, bathing, eating, and mobility.
• Collect non‑invasive body fluid specimens and record vital signs.
• Support physicians and nursing staff during procedures, including enemas, douches, non‑sterile dressings, surgical prep, and therapeutic baths.
• Administer restraints, perform urine testing, and provide post‑mortem care.
• Transport patients and equipment, maintain a safe environment, and document patient interactions.
• Measure and record food and fluid intake/output and report patient conditions to the assigned nurse.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant license.
• 0–1 year of relevant experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
• Commitment to university core values and ability to handle confidential information.
• Proficiency in basic computer software such as Microsoft Office.
