Certified Nursing Assistant – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Full-Time

About the role

The University of Miami Hospital & Clinics is seeking a full‑time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join the Nursing Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You will provide direct patient care, support nursing staff, and help maintain a safe, comfortable environment for patients and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, and toileting.
• Support meals, feeding, ambulation, turning, and positioning of patients.
• Administer non‑sterile dressings, enemas, douches, therapeutic baths, ice/heat packs, and restraints as directed.
• Collect specimens, perform sugar and acetone urine tests, and provide post‑mortem care.
• Answer call lights promptly, report patient conditions to assigned nurses, and record vital signs, intake, and output.
• Transport patients and equipment, and maintain a clean, safe environment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant license.
• 0–1 year of relevant experience (new graduates welcome).
• Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and handle confidential information with discretion.
• Commitment to University core values and ability to work independently or in a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar computer software.
