Certified Nursing Assistant – Progressive Care Unit (Full-Time)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join the Nursing Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This full‑time, onsite position provides direct patient care in a fast‑paced hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, including bedpans, showers, and grooming.
• Support meals, feeding, ambulation, turning, and positioning.
• Administer non‑sterile dressings, enemas, douches, and therapeutic treatments.
• Collect specimens, perform urine testing, and provide post‑mortem care.
• Answer call lights promptly and transport patients/equipment safely.
• Record intake/output, vital signs, and report patient conditions to the assigned nurse.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and adhere to unit policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant license.
• 0–1 year of relevant experience (new graduates welcome).
• Willingness to work evenings, nights, weekends as needed.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Commitment to University core values and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
