Certified Nursing Assistant / Patient Care Technician

About the role

AdventHealth in Tampa is hiring Certified Nursing Assistants / Patient Care Technicians (PCT) for day shifts, with night shifts also available. Positions are open in ICU, PCU, Rehab, Med/Surg, Med/Surg Ortho and ICU Cardiology, and both full-time and PRN schedules are available.

Key responsibilities

• Perform treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care suited to age, mobility, acuity and culture
• Respond appropriately in clinical emergencies and follow isolation guidelines and safety regulations
• Assist in delivering patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse
• Participate in obtaining a nursing history, report abnormalities and document procedures per department policy
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A); EMT certification is also accepted
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required
• Preferred: 1+ years of applicable PCT experience and previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit
