Certified Nursing Assistant – Neurosurgery (UTower) – Full‑Time

About the role

The University of Miami Hospital & Clinics is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join the Neurosurgery team in the UTower. This full‑time position provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, supporting a high‑acuity surgical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as dressing, bathing, feeding, and mobility.
• Collect non‑invasive specimens, record vital signs, and document patient interactions.
• Support physicians and nursing staff during procedures, including applying restraints, administering enemas, and preparing surgical sites.
• Provide personal hygiene care, including bedpans, showers, and grooming.
• Transport patients and equipment while maintaining a safe environment.
• Report patient conditions promptly to the assigned nurse.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CNA license and BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• 0–1 year of acute‑care hospital experience preferred.
• Ability to work variable 12‑hour shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Required skills

• Proficiency in basic patient care techniques.
• Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols.
