Certified Nursing Assistant – Neurosurgery (Full-Time)

About the role

We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join the Neurosurgery unit at the University of Miami Hospital. This full-time position works 3 × 12‑hour shifts and may include days, evenings or nights based on availability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene care such as bedpans, baths, backrubs, shampoos and shaves.
• Assist with meals, feeding, ambulation, turning, positioning and hydration.
• Administer enemas, douches, non‑sterile dressings, surgical prep, ice/heat packs and therapeutic baths.
• Perform specimen collection, urine testing, post‑mortem care and apply restraints when required.
• Respond promptly to call lights, record vital signs, intake/output and report patient status to the assigned nurse.
• Transport patients and equipment while maintaining a safe environment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current CNA certification.
• 0–1 year of relevant experience (new graduates welcome).
• Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends.
• Commitment to confidentiality, university policies and teamwork.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
