Certified Nursing Assistant – Neurology (Per Diem)

About the role

The University of Miami Hospital and Clinics is seeking a Per Diem Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support the Neurology unit. This part‑time position offers flexible 12‑hour shifts during nights and weekends, depending on availability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene care, including bedpans, showers, and grooming.
• Assist with meals, feeding, ambulation, turning, and positioning of patients.
• Administer enemas, non‑sterile dressings, therapeutic baths, and apply restraints as needed.
• Perform urine testing, specimen collection, and post‑mortem care.
• Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests.
• Maintain a safe environment, transport patients and equipment, and report conditions to the assigned nurse.
• Measure and record intake/output, vital signs, and assist with patient mobility and exercise.
• Follow University policies, safeguard assets, and uphold unit standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant license.
• 0–1 year of relevant experience (minimum).
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends.
