Certified Nursing Assistant – Neuro ICU (Full‑Time)

About the role

The University of Miami Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join the Neuro Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This full‑time position provides direct patient care in a fast‑paced, academic medical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, including bedpans, showers, and grooming.
• Support meals, feeding, ambulation, turning, and positioning.
• Administer enemas, douches, non‑sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, therapeutic baths, and restraints.
• Perform urine testing, specimen collection, and post‑mortem care.
• Answer call lights promptly and maintain a safe environment.
• Transport patients and equipment as needed.
• Report patient conditions to the assigned nurse.
• Measure and record intake/output, vital signs, and assist with mobility exercises.
• Adhere to university and unit policies and safeguard assets.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant license.
• 0–1 year of relevant experience.
• Willingness to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Commitment to the University’s core values and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
