Certified Nursing Assistant – Medical/Surgical/Telemetry (Full‑Time)

About the role

The University of Miami Hospital & Clinics is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to work on a 12‑hour rotating shift in the Medical/Surgical/Telemetry unit. The role provides direct patient care, supports nursing staff, and ensures a safe, comfortable environment for patients.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, and toileting.
• Support meals, feeding, ambulation, turning, and positioning of patients.
• Administer non‑sterile dressings, enemas, douches, and therapeutic treatments such as ice packs and heat packs.
• Collect specimens, perform urine testing, and provide post‑mortem care.
• Respond promptly to call lights, record vital signs, intake/output, and report patient conditions to the assigned nurse.
• Transport patients and equipment, maintain a clean environment, and apply restraints when required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant license.
• 0–1 year of relevant patient‑care experience (new graduates welcome).
• Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends and variable shifts.
• Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and ability to prioritize under pressure.
• Commitment to University core values and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Required skills
