About the role
The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to work in the Head & Neck unit on a per‑diem basis. The role involves providing direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses, ensuring comfort and safety for patients in a fast‑paced hospital environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, dressing, shaving, and toileting.
- Support patients during meals, feeding, ambulation, turning, and positioning.
- Collect non‑invasive specimens, perform vital sign checks, and document patient interactions.
- Provide basic treatments including enemas, non‑sterile dressings, therapeutic baths, and application of restraints.
- Respond promptly to call lights, transport patients and equipment, and maintain a safe environment.
- Report patient conditions to the assigned nurse and record intake/output measurements.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CNA license and BLS certification.
- 0–1 year of relevant patient‑care experience (experience not required).
- Ability to work 12‑hour shifts, including days, nights, and one weekend day.
Required skills
- Basic patient‑care techniques and ability to follow nursing instructions.
