Certified Nursing Assistant – Full-Time, Nursing Support Services

About the role

The University of Miami Hospital & Clinics is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join its Nursing Support Services team. This full‑time position provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, ensuring comfort, safety, and basic medical support.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, dressing, bedpans, and urinals.
• Support meals, feeding, ambulation, turning, and positioning of patients.
• Administer non‑sterile dressings, enemas, douches, therapeutic baths, and apply restraints when required.
• Collect specimens, perform urine testing, and provide post‑mortem care.
• Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests.
• Transport patients and equipment while maintaining a safe environment.
• Report patient conditions to the assigned nurse and record vital signs, intake, and output.
• Assist physicians and nursing staff with procedures and document patient interactions.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 0–1 year of relevant experience.
• Valid State of Florida CNA license.
• Learning agility to adapt to new procedures and protocols.
• Teamwork orientation and strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Basic computer proficiency (office software and relevant applications).
