Certified Nursing Assistant – Full-Time, Deerfield CTU

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join the Comprehensive Treatment Unit (CTU) at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center in Deerfield Beach, FL. This full‑time position provides direct patient care in a fast‑paced oncology setting, supporting nurses and physicians in delivering high‑quality treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene care including bedpans, showers, baths, and grooming.
• Assist with meals, feeding, ambulation, turning, positioning, and hydration.
• Administer enemas, douches, non‑sterile dressings, surgical prep, ice/heat packs, therapeutic baths, and restraints.
• Perform urine testing, specimen collection, and post‑mortem care.
• Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests.
• Maintain a safe environment, transport patients and equipment.
• Report patient conditions to assigned nurses for assessment.
• Measure and record intake/output and vital signs.
• Assist patients with walking, exercising, and transfers.
• Follow unit policies, safeguard assets, and uphold University standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant license.
• Minimum three years of relevant CNA experience.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize under pressure, and discretion with confidential information.
• Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
