Certified Nursing Assistant – Cardiac/Telemetry (Full‑Time)

About the role

The University of Miami Hospital & Clinics is seeking a full‑time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide direct patient care on the Cardiac/Telemetry unit. The CNA will support patient hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and basic clinical procedures while collaborating closely with nursing staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, bathing, toileting, and grooming.
• Provide feeding assistance, ambulation, positioning, and water/nutrition between meals.
• Perform basic clinical tasks such as enemas, non‑sterile dressings, ice/heat applications, therapeutic baths, and restraint application.
• Collect specimens, conduct urine testing, and assist with post‑mortem care.
• Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests.
• Measure and record intake/output, vital signs, and report changes to the assigned nurse.
• Support patient mobility, exercise, and minor physical therapy to prevent bed sores.
• Attach EKG leads, collect urine samples, and assist with catheter removal.
• Assist with intravenous nutrition setup, monitoring, and discontinuation.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and transport patients/equipment as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant license.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant CNA experience, preferably in cardiac or telemetry settings.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and 12‑hour rotating shifts.
• Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and adherence to university policies.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
