Certified Nursing Assistant – Cardiac/Telemetry (Full-Time)

About the role

The University of Miami Hospital & Clinics is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care in the Cardiac/Telemetry unit. This full‑time position works three 12‑hour shifts covering days, nights, weekends, and on‑call duties.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, and toileting.
• Support meals, feeding, ambulation, positioning, and provide fresh water between meals.
• Administer non‑sterile dressings, enemas, douches, ice/heat packs, therapeutic baths, and restraints as ordered.
• Collect specimens, perform sugar and acetone urine testing, and provide post‑mortem care.
• Respond promptly to call lights, transport patients and equipment, and maintain a safe environment.
• Record vital signs, intake/output, and report patient conditions to the assigned nurse.
• Assist patients with walking, exercising, and transferring in and out of bed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant license.
• 0–1 year of relevant experience (new graduates welcome).
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends.
• Commitment to university values and ability to handle confidential information.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
