Certified Nursing Assistant 2 – On‑Call PACU Recovery (Full‑Time)

About the role

The University of Miami Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Level 2 to work on‑call in the Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Recovery area. This full‑time, onsite position supports patient hygiene, mobility, and basic clinical care while collaborating closely with nursing staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance, including bedpans, showers, backrubs, and shaving.
• Assist with meals, feeding, ambulation, turning, and positioning of patients.
• Administer non‑sterile dressings, enemas, douches, therapeutic baths, ice/heat packs, and restraints as ordered.
• Perform urine testing, specimen collection, and post‑mortem care.
• Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests.
• Maintain a safe environment, transport patients and equipment, and report conditions to the assigned nurse.
• Measure and record intake/output, vital signs, and assist with patient mobility exercises.
• Adhere to university and unit policies, safeguarding assets and patient confidentiality.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant license.
• 0–1 year of relevant healthcare experience (new graduates welcome).
• Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and on‑call shifts.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize under pressure, and discretion with confidential information.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
