Certified Nursing Assistant 1 – On Call, Full-Time

About the role

The University of Miami Hospital & Clinics is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join the Interventional Radiology Imaging unit on a full-time, on-call basis. The CNA will deliver basic patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and support clinical staff with routine procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.
• Provide feeding assistance, ambulation, positioning, and monitor intake and output.
• Collect non-invasive specimens, perform urine testing, and record vital signs.
• Support physicians and nurses during procedures, including applying dressings, restraints, and therapeutic treatments.
• Respond promptly to call lights, transport patients and equipment, and maintain a safe environment.
• Document patient interactions and report changes in condition to the assigned nurse.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid State of Florida Certified Nursing Assistant license.
• 0–1 year of relevant healthcare experience.
• Ability to learn new protocols and work collaboratively in a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software and basic computer applications.
