Certified Medication Aide - Per Diem

About the role

Monarch Communities is hiring a part-time, non-exempt, hourly Certified Medication Aide (Med Tech) in Moorestown. The position reports to the Director of Health & Wellness and covers three shifts: 7:00am-3:00pm, 3:00pm-11:00pm and 11:00pm-7:00am. Pay is $24.00-$25.00.

Key responsibilities

• Provide quality care and services to residents and their families.
• Assist with medication administration according to each resident's care plan and physician's orders.
• Administer and/or assist with self-administration of prescribed medication and maintain related medical records under the supervision of the RN and/or LPN.
• Complete required annual medication training.
• Provide resident care so needs are met according to the care plan.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in line with federal and state regulations, certification standards and legal and ethical standards.
• Protect residents' comfort, privacy and dignity.
• Observe and report changes in residents' physical condition, cognition and emotional status to the supervisor.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least six months of experience working with seniors in personal care, home health, hospital or long-term care.
• Able to work weekends and holidays.
• Physical ability to lift or carry up to 50 lbs and support residents, using proper body mechanics.

Required skills

• Medication Technician training completed and passing periodic competency testing.
• Ability to administer medication in accordance with state regulations.
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA policies.
