Certified Medical Assistant (Level 2 & 3) – Full Time

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Neurology seeks full‑time Certified Medical Assistants (Levels 2 and 3) to support providers and deliver patient‑centered care on the UHealth Medical Campus.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms with supplies, instruments, and materials for provider examinations.
• Perform vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and routine laboratory tests, documenting results in the patient record.
• Assist patients with preparation for examinations, provide post‑visit instructions, and escort them to various hospital locations.
• Maintain sterile technique, clean and sterilize medical instruments, and manage inventory of supplies.
• Schedule patients for tests, complete required laboratory forms, and perform clerical duties as needed.
• Observe and report changes in patient signs or symptoms and adhere to privacy and ethical standards.

Required profile

• Certified Medical Assistant (Level 1, 2, or 3) with a commitment to culturally competent, evidence‑based care.
• Ability to work under direct supervision of a licensed physician and collaborate with nursing staff.
• Adherence to ethical, legal, and regulatory standards, including emergency response and patient privacy.
