Certified Medical Assistant (Level 1)

About the role

The Department of Orthopedic Sports Medicine at Lennar Foundation Medical Center is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (MA) Level 1. The MA will support physicians and nursing staff by delivering hands‑on patient care, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring a safe, compassionate environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform multi‑skilled tasks to assist medical providers during patient visits.
• Support patients’ healthcare management and clinical procedures in a culturally competent manner.
• Adhere to regulatory requirements, institutional policies, and evidence‑based standards of quality and safety.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies, maintaining professionalism at all times.
• Collaborate with the Nurse Manager, charge nurse, or designated supervisor to ensure safe delivery of care.
• Document patient interactions accurately and communicate clearly with patients, families, and team members.

Required profile

• Current staff, faculty, or temporary employee of the University of Miami (internal applicants use Workday).
• Certified Medical Assistant credential.
• Ability to work under direct supervision of a licensed physician.
• Commitment to ethical, legal, and professional standards of practice.
• Strong interpersonal skills to create a trusting, healing environment.
