Certified Medical Assistant 2 – Hybrid (Administrative)

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Neurology seeks a full‑time Certified Medical Assistant 2 to work on a hybrid schedule. The MA2 will support medical providers by performing multi‑skilled, non‑patient‑facing administrative and clinical tasks in a culturally competent, evidence‑based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms with supplies, instruments, and materials for provider examinations.
• Perform routine laboratory tests, vital signs, EKGs, and phlebotomy, documenting results in the patient record.
• Administer medication as directed, assist with patient mobility, and escort patients to various hospital locations.
• Observe and report changes in patient signs or symptoms, and provide post‑visit care instructions.
• Clean and sterilize medical instruments following aseptic technique.
• Schedule patients for tests, complete laboratory forms, and manage inventory of supplies.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with regulatory and institutional policies.

Required profile

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with a valid certification.
• Ability to work under direct supervision of a licensed physician or delegated nurse.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and medical/surgical asepsis.
• Professional demeanor, ethical practice, and ability to respond to emergencies.
