Certified CVOR Surgical Technician – Full Time

About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a Certified CVOR Surgical Technician to join the UHealth Tower surgical team. This full‑time position supports cardiovascular procedures by managing instruments, supplies, and equipment while maintaining a sterile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Function as the first scrub person, handling all instruments and supplies during cardiovascular surgeries.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and ensure the operative field remains sterile.
• Coordinate with the surgical team to maintain equipment functionality and patient safety.
• Serve as a coordinator and preceptor for new hires and student trainees.
• Monitor operational metrics such as First Case On‑Time Starts (FCOTS) and Turn‑Around Time (TAT).

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in a relevant specialty (e.g., BLS).
• Minimum one year of CVOR experience.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
• Commitment to the University’s core values and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Required skills

• BLS certification.
• Proven CVOR experience.
• Knowledge of advanced surgical instrumentation and equipment.
