Central Supply Technician – Full‑Time

About the role

The Central Supply Technician ensures that medical supplies and equipment are readily available, properly stocked, and safely decontaminated for clinical use. Working within the University of Miami Health System, you will support multiple departments by managing inventory, processing requests, and maintaining clean supply areas.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain supply areas, par level carts, and automated dispensing systems in an orderly fashion.
• Label shelves and bins with appropriate par labels.
• Monitor collection, cleaning, decontamination, and charging of reusable patient equipment.
• Report broken or damaged equipment for repair.
• Print and apply patient charge labels before items leave the warehouse.
• Ensure all items are charged to the correct department.
• Assist staff in correctly storing supplies.
• Collect patient charge documents from assigned areas.
• Maintain crash carts by removing items before expiration.
• Distribute supplies to various departments.
• Prepare daily, monthly, and yearly inventory control reports.
• Track supply shelf life and manage recalls.
• Monitor sterilization processes and document reports.
• Process supply requests promptly and efficiently.
• Follow university policies to safeguard assets.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Technical proficiency with office software and relevant computer applications.
