Central Sterile Processing Technician 2 (Full-Time)

About the role

The University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, is seeking a Central Sterile Processing Technician 2 for a full‑time position in Miami, Florida. The technician will prepare supplies and equipment for patient procedures and achieve competency in two areas of sterile processing.

Key responsibilities

• Cleans, wraps, sterilizes, stores, and distributes medical equipment, supplies and instruments used in patient care.
• Receives, processes, stocks, and distributes supplies to surgical nursing units and ancillary departments.
• Sets up decontamination and assembly workstations daily following established standard‑of‑work processes.
• Transports case carts, emergency carts and supplies while adhering to safety protocols.
• Maintains documentation of sterilizers and processing equipment and ensures proper storage of sterile supplies.
• Provides reliable, high‑quality customer service and prepares shift reports.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant sterile processing experience.

Required skills

• CRCST certification.
• Operation of sterile processing and decontamination equipment.
• Knowledge of infection control and universal precautions.
