CDL‑A City Delivery Driver – Local

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking experienced CDL‑A drivers for city pickup and delivery routes at its Davenport, IA service center. You will complete multiple stops each day, handle freight scanning, interact directly with customers, and return to the terminal each evening.

Key responsibilities

• Perform city deliveries and pickups of freight on a scheduled route.
• Operate scanning equipment to track loads.
• Use an electric pallet jack for lift‑gate deliveries when required.
• Maintain communication with customers and the terminal staff.
• Return to the home terminal daily.

Required profile

• Valid CDL Class A with at least 1 year of combined verifiable Class A experience within the past 3 years.
• Clean driving record (no serious violations, ≤3 moving violations in 3 years).
• Age 23 (or 21 with FMCSA‑approved military transition).
• Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and road test.
• Physical ability to bend, lift, and stoop safely.

Required skills

• CDL Class A operation.
• Electric pallet jack operation.
• Haz‑mat endorsement (preferred).
