CDL‑A City Delivery Driver – $33.75/hr

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking reliable CDL‑A City & Pickup & Delivery (P&D) drivers for its Meriden, CT service center. This full‑time position offers a steady hourly rate of $33.75, a Monday‑Friday schedule with various shift options, and the benefit of returning home each night.

Key responsibilities

• Perform city deliveries and pickups of freight, returning to the terminal daily.
• Make multiple stops per day, interact directly with customers, and handle lift‑gate deliveries using an electric pallet jack.
• Operate scanning equipment to track shipments accurately.
• Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all safety regulations.

Required profile

• Valid CDL Class A license with at least one year of combined verifiable Class A driving experience within the past three years.
• Good driving record (no serious violations, no more than three moving violations in the past three years).
• Age 23 (or 21 if meeting FMCSA specs for military transition).
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment DOT physical, drug screen, and road test.
• Physical ability to bend, lift, and stoop without difficulty.
