Cath Lab Tech II or RN

About the role

AdventHealth in Orlando is hiring a Cath Lab Tech II or Registered Nurse (RN) for its cardiovascular services. The position covers diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures such as coronary, electrophysiology, interventional radiology and peripheral interventions, with a schedule of four 10-hour day shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures and respond to clinical emergencies within the scope of practice.
• Administer and evaluate treatments and medications, verify orders and communicate with physicians.
• Maintain and operate equipment and supplies, keeping them properly set up and sterilized.
• Produce accurate, timely medical records and follow documentation and regulatory standards.
• Train and supervise new personnel, take scheduled emergency calls and take part in quality and performance improvement activities.

Required profile

• Associate degree (Bachelor's preferred); field of study in science.
• 1+ year of relevant healthcare experience; 2+ years in cardiac cath, EP, neurosciences, critical care or interventional radiology preferred.
• Required license: RN, RT(R)(ARRT), RRT, RCIS, RCES, CVIT, Licensed Paramedic, CST, or equivalent.
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS.
• Ability to read, write and speak conversational English.

Required skills

• ECG training and arrhythmia interpretation, cardiovascular and vascular anatomy, hemodynamic monitoring.
• Monitoring blood pressure, ECG and pulse oximetry; reading and writing Microsoft Office; Windows operating system.
• Operating x-ray equipment and adhering to radiation safety principles (ALARA).
• Able to learn hemodynamic monitoring software and scrub, record and circulate positions.
• Preferred: electrophysiology, interventional radiology, interventional cardiology and peripheral procedures knowledge.
