Catering & Sales Coordinator

About the role

The Catering & Sales Coordinator supports group sales, catering events, and marketing initiatives at the Long Island Marriott Hotel & Conference Center. The role ensures seamless event planning, accurate documentation, and exceptional service delivery across multiple departments.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate weddings, corporate meetings, social events and group functions from planning through post‑event follow‑up.
• Prepare banquet event orders, group resumes, rooming lists and other event documentation.
• Work closely with Banquets, Kitchen, Front Office and third‑party vendors to ensure flawless execution.
• Support proposals, contracts, client correspondence and billing accuracy post‑event.
• Assist with hotel website, OTA content, social media updates and digital marketing campaigns.

Required profile

• 2+ years of hotel catering, sales support, event planning or hospitality coordination experience.
• Full‑service hotel experience strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with hotel sales/catering systems such as Delphi, CI/TY or Visual Matrix.
• Knowledge of digital marketing or social media platforms is a plus.
