Cast Technician – Orthopedic Sports Medicine

About the role

The University of Miami UHealth – Orthopedic Sports Medicine at SoLé Mia is seeking a Cast Technician to support orthopedic care. You will work directly with physicians, nurses, and orthopedic technicians to apply, adjust, and remove casts, splints, and braces for post‑operative patients.

Key responsibilities

• Assist physicians and nursing staff with casting procedures, including application and removal of various casts and splints.
• Perform routine post‑op care such as wound cleaning, dressing changes, and medication administration.
• Document all treatments in patient medical records and maintain accurate coding for supplies and modalities.
• Maintain inventory levels of casts, splints, medications, and related equipment; place orders as needed.
• Ensure examination and cast rooms are stocked, clean, and ready for each patient.
• Facilitate patient flow and coordinate care with the clinical team.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience, preferably in an outpatient clinic setting.
• Orthopedic Technician Certification preferred.
• Bilingual ability is a plus.
