Cash Handler – Seattle

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco’s Seattle branch is seeking a reliable Cash Handler to support the receipt, processing, and distribution of U.S. currency and coin. This full‑time, on‑site position works in a high‑volume, production‑oriented environment with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, process, and distribute U.S. currency and coin in accordance with strict operating procedures.
• Operate and troubleshoot complex processing equipment to meet production goals and contractual obligations.
• Perform daily inventory management, including balancing, reconciling, and settling currency holdings.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain quality‑control standards and resolve operational issues.
• Identify and address problems related to machinery, inventory, customer transactions, and accounting.
• Contribute ideas for process improvements and employee engagement.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math and accounting competence.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
• Effective communication, teamwork, and customer‑service orientation.
• Time‑management and organizational skills for a fast‑paced environment.
