Caseworker – Refugee Services

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a dedicated Caseworker to provide trauma‑informed services to refugees and other ORR‑eligible immigrants in Phoenix. You will help clients navigate housing, benefits, healthcare, education, and employment, fostering self‑sufficiency and successful integration.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct intake interviews and needs assessments to identify client strengths, barriers, and goals.
• Develop Family Self‑Sufficiency Plans (FSSPs) and Individual Employability Plans (IEPs) in line with program and donor requirements.
• Provide case management, direct support, referrals, and advocacy with service providers.
• Coordinate access to housing, benefits, healthcare, education, and employment services.
• Monitor client progress, adjust plans as needed, and maintain accurate documentation in case files and data systems.
• Build and maintain relationships with community partners to expand resources.
• Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and trainings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 2 years of case management experience in a social services setting.
• Experience working with vulnerable or underserved populations is a plus.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, and detail‑orientation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross‑cultural, multidisciplinary team.
