Caseworker

About the role

The Caseworker provides trauma‑informed services to refugees and other qualified immigrants, helping them achieve a successful resettlement and self‑sufficiency. Working closely with clients, colleagues, and external partners, the role develops individualized service plans that draw on a wide range of financial, medical, social, and vocational resources.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate timely pre‑ and post‑arrival services, ensuring clients have housing, food, medical care, transportation, and orientation to their new environment.
• Conduct intake assessments to identify client needs, eligibility, and preferences.
• Develop and monitor personalized self‑sufficiency plans that align with program requirements.
• Connect clients with appropriate financial, medical, social, and vocational resources.
• Maintain accurate case records and report on client progress.

Required profile

• Experience working with refugees, immigrants, or other vulnerable populations.
• Strong understanding of trauma‑informed practice and cultural sensitivity.
• Ability to navigate and coordinate multiple service providers and resources.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to the mission of the International Rescue Committee and adherence to collective bargaining agreements.
