Cardiothoracic Surgeon – San Juan, Puerto Rico

About the role

We are seeking two board‑certified or board‑eligible cardiothoracic surgeons to provide comprehensive surgical services at a major federal healthcare facility serving veterans in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The position offers long‑term contract stability with full‑scope cardiothoracic practice in a hospital‑based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform open‑heart surgeries and related inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department procedures.
• Provide pre‑ and post‑operative management, consults, and emergency pacemaker implantation.
• Conduct pericardial window, pericardiectomy, and pacemaker lead extraction procedures.
• Support interventional cardiology cases, including cath‑lab assistance and backup for PCI.

Required profile

• MD or DO with an unrestricted U.S. medical license.
• Board certified or board eligible in thoracic surgery.
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications and ability to meet federal credentialing standards.
