Cardiology Sonographer (AHMG) - Orlando

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time day-shift Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) for its AHMG Cardiology unit at the Innovation Tower in Orlando, Florida. The shift runs Monday to Thursday, 7am to 5:30pm, and the position comes with a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

Key responsibilities

• Take a complete and current patient history and the reason for the exam.
• Perform quality echocardiogram and vascular studies so that reading physicians can make an adequate diagnosis.
• Obtain all views required for processing and input notes, history and data after each exam.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Check practitioner orders for accuracy and clarify them with offices, floors or physicians as needed.
• Notify the floor if a patient has had an echocardiogram in the past six months.
• Use all safety measures provided for the department and technologists, and use two patient identifiers such as name and date of birth.
• Ensure proper positioning, technique and protocol for each exam, and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS); one of these is required.
• Basic Life Support / CPR certification (BLS) is required.
• An associate's degree in cardiovascular sonography is preferred, and more than 1 year of relevant experience is preferred.
