Cannabis Security Officer

About the role

The Cannabis Security Officer will protect the Colusa Indian Community Council dispensary, ensuring a safe environment for staff and customers during all operating hours, including nights and weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence inside and outside the facility at all times.
• Conduct routine and random foot patrols, inspect security measures, and report suspicious activity immediately.
• Monitor CCTV stations proactively and intervene when concerns arise.
• Enforce tribal cannabis regulations, verify customer age and identification, and scan IDs into the system.
• Defuse conflicts using sound resolution skills and involve management as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least five years of retail experience, preferably in cannabis retail.
• Minimum two years in security or one year in cannabis security.
• Must be 21 years or older, hold a valid California driver’s license and BSIS Guard Card, and obtain a tribal cannabis license after hire.
• CPR certification or willingness to become certified within 30 days.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience monitoring CCTV systems.
